Jarrow Montessori is a 501c3 non-profit entity. The school is governed by a Board of Trustees which follow the guidelines set out by NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools) defining best practices for governing boards. The Board is charged with the long-term sustainability of the school, strategic planning, fiduciary responsibility, hiring the principal and approval of new policies as recommended by the Principal.
The Board is governed by a set of by-laws which are periodically reviewed by the Trustees Committee.
The Board meets approximately every six weeks during the school year.

Board Committees
- Finance committee: oversee finances at Jarrow
- Development committee: raise funds for Jarrow through the annual fund and Gala, develop additional fundraising campaigns/activities
- Strategic planning committee: develop a current strategic plan for Jarrow
- Governance committee: to oversee and develop board policies and by-laws, and to bring on and develop new board members.
