As part of our Halloween festivities, Jarrow celebrated it’s first annual Great Jack-o-Lantern event this year. Children (Toddler through Upper Elementary) and parents carried their handiwork to school on Halloween morning. All Jack-o-Lanterns were enjoyed throughout the day, then graced our afternoon Halloween Parade. Upper Elementary students created categories of note and distributed awards – and all Jack-o-Lanterns went home with an award, describing its merits. Student-designed awards included: Most Creative, Most Angular, Hungriest, Most Cat-Like, Most Picasso, Most Gigantic and Most Colorful. Such a success was this event, we are already looking forward to Jarrow’s Second Annual Jack-o-Lantern Event next year. Thanks to all families who contributed with fabulous pumpkin art and in Montessori’s spirit of collaboration and self-expression!
