Dear Jarrow Parents,
As Spring break begins, your children’s teachers are heading to Denver for the 2018 National AMS (American Montessori Society) Conference. The conference began today, and Jarrow was honored to have been chosen as a host school, with nearly 60 Montessorians arriving to visit our campus. A full and auspicious morning it was, with a number of our staff members leading tours throughout campus. We closed the morning in the MP Room, blessed before lunch by Monica, Jarrow’s Music Teacher, and Lower Elementary students who sang a song of peace. Our group departed after resounding comments on what a powerful, inspiring morning we shared. And indeed we did. We are so proud of our Jarrow Staff who opened their classrooms and their hearts to this very special day, and to our students who maintained focus and confidence as they continued with their work as visitors quietly stepped in and out of the classrooms to absorb the harmony and goodness everywhere.
As we know, Montessori stands unique in a singular philosophy that inspires the blending of academic achievement with a sense of discovery and awe. Both of those were certainly in full evidence today, and the Jarrow Staff looks forward to the coming days – attending workshops and gathering with colleagues. As much as we gain, learn and receive with your children each day, it is our ongoing commitment to professional development that keeps us on our toes to grow and deepen in our practices and our work. So it is off to Denver with the Jarrow Staff, and then to a well-deserved Spring break for everyone.
With grateful hearts,
