The Jarrow Parent Association
The Jarrow Parent Association (JPA) is a volunteer organization comprised of parents who work together with faculty and staff to enrich the community through all-school events, fundraising, philanthropy, community development, and staff appreciation. All parents of Jarrow students are members of the JPA and are encouraged to get involved! Parents can join JPA committees on multiple levels, and any support is greatly appreciated. Volunteer opportunities also exist in the classroom. Each classroom is represented by one to three volunteer Room Coordinators who support the classroom teachers by developing community and supporting teacher needs.
Mission: To foster a unified positive spirit among parents, faculty, staff, trustees and students. To promote cooperative communication within the parent body and within the school. To encourage parents to actively embrace, through volunteerism and philanthropy, the priorities and mission of Jarrow, thus partnering with the entire school to strive for excellence.
JPA Committees and Events Volunteer Opportunities:
Please contact Courtney (email@example.com) with questions or to engage in volunteer opportunities.
Plan and execute teacher appreciation activities/events throughout the year to honor our teachers. Coordinate the Staff Holiday Gift cards for each teacher from the class funds.
The Gala is Jarrow’s largest fundraising event of the year. With so many opportunities to help and a great crew of volunteers, the Gala committee is a great way to give back to the school while having a great time party planning!
Community & Hospitality
Support community development by coordinating playdates on or off-campus or parent-only events like hikes to Wonderland Lake after drop-off, or dinner gatherings or happy hour at local restaurants, as well as monthly community coffees and other school-based gatherings.
Help integrate new families into the Jarrow community by making introductions to existing families, helping new families become aware of events in which they can meet others and learn more about the school, and be a source of information when questions arise.
Work with Principal and others in the committee to develop Jarrow’s philanthropic engagement in our greater community. Current programs include the Thanksgiving Box Project and Share-a-Gift Program.
Volunteers are always needed for our all-school events! Please contact Courtney for more details and volunteer opportunities! (firstname.lastname@example.org)
