Date: Wednesdays: 3/22 – 5/17 (No 3/29)
Time & Place: 3:30pm – 4:30pm, Multipurpose Room
Description: This class teaches children yoga and movement techniques in a joyful and creative way. We will build a toolkit for stress management, social skills, flexibility, confidence, and mindfulness. We will learn various postures, partner poses, connecting mind and body through movement, games as well as relaxation and visualization through storytelling. Yoga has been proven to benefit self-esteem, body awareness, flexibility/strength, coordination, concentration, and connectedness to the environment, self-control, confidence, focus, and reduces stress and anxiety. No need to bring a yoga mat, I will supply all mats and props.
Karin Cassidy has been teaching children’s yoga both in her classroom and enrichment classes for 5 years and has been a Montessori teacher for 20 years.
